Pheasants

The low ground shoot at Airlie provides some superb sport and usually consists of pheasant, duck and partridge. Carried out around the grounds of Cortachy Castle it benefits from steep sided valleys in an idyllic setting along the banks of the River South Esk. Bags of 200 250 per day are available and early days of predominantly partridge in October and early November can be arranged.

The backdrop of the Castle provides a magnificent setting for the gathering of the guns in the morning and lunch is available in the beautifully appointed Castle dining room (see picture opposite).

The Pheasant season runs from 1st October 1st February.
